We survived our first night of sleep at the hotel...BARELY! Bayley did not sleep good at all...YUK! We registered Sydney's art and then I judged posters with Becky Billy & Mia...it was tough...3 posters in the group we judged. lol After lunch Sydney & Meleah competed in debate. They did so good. I was very proud of them. They had improved so much and did a great job! Brian judged Bible Reading and Me Syd & Bay rode the Shuttle over to the mall. it was a mistake because we didnt realize how little time we would have. We ran and bought a shirt and dress that we decided we wanted for Syd and then headed to the food court bought dinner for all of us and headed back to the hotel. It was a quick trip! We had fun at awards that night. Sylvan Springs won so much stuff. It was great. Syd got her Good Samaritan ribbon, 1st place in web page, 3rd place in painting, and 3rd place in black & white photo!

We slept late this morning 8:30!! GO ME! Then we packed like crazy people and threw everything we own into the car and headed out for Nashville about 2. We got to Nashville by 5 and I have to brag on my husband. We mistakenly packed our directions in a suitcase in the back of the trunk...YUCK! So he got us to the Hotel from memory!!! I was sooo excited...we normally get lost every stinking year so that is a very big deal!!! We went to the mall and shopped for a few hours. Brian left us at the mall and went and unpacked the car at the hotel. YAY ME!!! We got Syd several things at the mall ( I had shopped for Bay before we left). After the mall we went to Santa Fe & walked in and there sat most of our church! It was funny. The food was YUMMY good!!!

I felt rough today. I left work and went to the doctor because my blood pressure has been up lately again. My feet and ankles were bad swolen. She increased my blood pressure medicine which she said may interfere with my milk supply. I hope not because I am despirately trying to make it to a year. Bay had a good day. She was in a really good mood.

Today was a good day. I took Sydney to the dentist at 8am ...stinks for her spring break. They had the new lab guy there to look at her teeth. He is going to give her bridge a try & attempt to fix our issues. Cross your fingers. Then we headed to Children's Medical Group for Bay's follow up appt. She was doing great ...all infections gone. Only problem is she has still not gained any weight. She is stuck at 14 lb even. YUCK! We had to see Dr. Cohen again because Dr. Tindle was on vacation. I just dont like that man. He actually asked me if we fed her...I just looked at him. I wanted to say...no I havent but thanks for the idea I will get right on that. What a jerk. He has ZERO personality! I talked to Brenda Dr. Tindle's nurse and she said to increase Bay's cereal again & see if that works. So that is waht we are doing. Cross your fingers and say a weight gain prayer for Bay!

It is spring break!!!!! Syd is just thrilled! She slept late then went to work with Devin at his moms. They painted a curb & did some other stuff. Bay had a good day at Gails. More tomorrow.

Today was a good day. Today is my Mom's Birthday! Happy Birthday We Love You So Much! We went to church & Bayley had a good morning. I taught Bay's class for the first time today which was a hoot considering I still cant remember all the songs & the tunes to them. lol We went home after church & Syd worked on painting and stuff finishing up before Lads. We went to church tonight at West Concord for the kids to do their speaches & songs for them. It was fun. After that we went by Alan & Chris' house to give Chris & Alana their bday cards..better late than never. It was funny. Brody was a wild man & Alana tried on her dress for the Oak Grove pageant for us. She looked too cute! More tomorrow.

We got up this morning and went to Billys and got our hair done. I got mine cut & Syd got hers highlighted & cut. It was fun to goof off at Billys he is so fun. We went to Walmart & then I went to Beckys for Mary's Liver Party! it was fun. She was so shocked! lol

Today was a good day. Bayley was with Gail today. Brian picked up Bay for me today & I went to Babies R Us and Burlington on my way home. I got a lot of stuff accomplished today. Yay ME!

I stayed home from work today sick with this stinking cold. I had a fever this morning and just feel yucky. Bayley went to Gails today. She did good. I got Bayley, Sydney & Devin & we headed to Chelsea to Sydney's soccer game. They lost.

Bayley was with Katie today. She was in a good mood. We ate at church again tonight. It was yummy good again. Bayley was a lil fussy during church tonight. Hopefully she was just being moody.

Today was a good day. Bay was with Katie today. She had a good day & played a lot with Hannah. I am a new AUNT again...Corra Nicole Maddox was born today to Paul & Amy. She weighed 9 lbs 7 oz and is 20 inches long. YES 9 POUNDS!!!! She is just beautiful and BIG! We ate at churhc tonight before the meeting. It was good. Bayley was good tonight during church. I am so glad she is feeling better!

Bayley was with Gail today. She felt better & acted more like our BayBay. I kept her at home from church tonight again hoping that one more day of antibiotics would help get her stronger so maybe she wont catch anything else. She stayed awake a lot more today!

Bayley is better. She isnt anywhere near well but she does feel better. We stayed home from church because she still had a low grade fever this morning. We slept a good bit during the day again. Brian & Syd went to church for the beginning of the meeting with Clark Sims & then on to Bible Bowl. They said it was fun. More tomorrow.

Today is Brian's 38th Birthday!!! We had a lazy day today. Bayley slept ALL DAY. Like literally the baby was only awake when we made her wake up to attempt to eat. She hasnt eaten good since yesterday. She did run a fever last night of 101 and it has been around 100 off and on all day today. Hopefully she will feel better soon.

Today was a wild day. I got a call from Gail at 10:45 saying she couldnt get Bayley to stay awake for her. She woudlnt wake up good. She had been asleep since she got there and the two times she had woke up she cried which isnt Bayley. Gail just said she was not acting normal and she was concerned. So I took off for PG & when I got there Bayley woke up for me but was not acting like herself. SHe took a bottle for me and then went back to sleep. I took Bay to the doctor & we saw Dr. Cohen (dont love him). He said she had ear infections & a blood infection similar to RSV but NOT RSV. He said that it could affect her breathing & he was shocked with her blood levels that she wasnt running a high fever. He gave her a shot of Rocephin & 10 days of Amoxil. She still only weighed 14 lbs. She came home and slept all day/night. She didnt eat good at all. Sydney had a soccer game at 5:30 so I ended up going to 1/2 the game and then I came home and let Brian go to the 2nd 1/2 of the game. They lost. More tomorrow.

OK so Im a little late updating my blog but better late than never. : ) Today has been good so far. I took Bayley to get her FINAL Synagis shot for this year! woohoo!!!! Ok there were good points and not so good so Im going bullet form to attempt to shorten this.

• Weight was 14 lbs even which was not a good weight gain at all. She should be gaining approx 1 lb a month now and she weighed 13 lb 12 oz last month...YUK!
• Height was 25 inches. She has only grown 1/2 inch in the last 2 months. EHHH.
• Physical exam was good. Ears were clear so she is pulling on them cause she found them and they are fun! lol
• No sign of teeth (although she is drooling BUCKETS!)
• Excited over pulling up (although that burns calories which we dont need to do!).
• Dr. Tindle suggested sitting her down and letting her play with a bucket of toys....HAHAHAHA as if she is going to sit still for that longer than 10 minutes :/
• She got her last Synagis shot & her Hepatitis B
• She can have puffs and starter finger foods AFTER she crawls. yuk
• We are going to add rice cereal to her dinner to try to fatten her up and slowly increase her foods. Dr. Tindle also kept Bayley on the Levsin 6 drops 1 x day unless her tummy is acting up. If it is we can increase it to every 4-6 hours which should help her tolerate food more.
• We have to do weight checks at home every two weeks and report those to Dr. Tindle. We will reevaluate her weight in approximately 6 weeks and may have to go back in to discuss different things to try to get her to grow better.
• Bay had dropped two bars on the growth chart in a month and is only in the 15th percentile for a 6 1/2 month old...YUK YUK YUK.
• Dr. Tindle said the seperation anxiety is a GREAT thing. She said it showed she had bonded good with us and that is wonderful. Another check mark in our favor against Autism. Go Bay Bay.
• By one year Dr. Tindle wants Bayley to ATLEAST weigh 16 lb 8 oz!
• If all goes well we dont go back to the doctor until her ONE YEAR appointment....I dont think we will know how to act!!! We have been to the doctor ATLEAST once a month since she was born!!! WOOO HOOOO!!!!!!

So much for this being short... o well! I saw this today and it brought tears to my eyes...so many of these things fit so well and so many of these things we have OUTGROWN!!! Our Bayley is still little but man has she come a long way!

You know you're the parent of a preemie when...

1. You use strange initials (C-PAP, CCs, NICU, NG) when discussing your child.
2. You actually remember how many CCs make up an ounce.
3. You count her weight in grams.
4. The skin on your hands is peeling from washing so often!
5. You hesitate when someone asks her age, but you know exactly how much she weighs!
6. The answer to "How old is your baby?" is a story 30 minutes long!
7. When someone asks her birthday, you reply, "Which one?"
8. You start to understand some of the things they say on ER!
9. You turn into Kung-Fu Mom when someone tries to touch your baby.
10. You attempt to measure just how much spit-up she just had before you clean it up!
11. You know how much she weighs before putting her on the scale at the doctor's office
12. You cry at Maternity Ward and get mad at Baby Story.
13. You see a 7lb newborn and say "Wow! She's so BIG!"
14. Your baby is months old before he can even go to the mall.
15. When someone says how tiny your baby is, you argue that she is huge -- and to demonstrate, you whip out pictures of her in NICU.
16. You do a health check on people when they come to your house to visit.
17. You make people wash their hands before going near your child.
18. You want to scream when someone says that she just wants to have this baby now - at week 28, 32, or 34.
19. You are so amazed when someone actually tells you your baby is big for her age!
20. You tried to find a place to buy newborn size diapers in bulk.
21. You called half your relatives when the baby grew out of their first pair of pajamas!
22. You never take your child for granted.
23. You worry about RSV season and it is still weeks away . . .
24. You know what "RSV" stands for.
25. You donate her tiny clothes to the NICU and marvel that they seem so small - when they were too darn large!
26. Your daughter gets a simple cold and her doc sees her within the hour!
27. People say, "She CAN'T be __ old...she's too little!"
28. It has taken them 5 months to grow INTO newborn clothes!
29. You pick up 2 pounds of ground beef and think that your baby was born at the same weight
30. You can stare at your baby for hours when she sleeps

I have to start by saying Happy 9 Months Day to Bayley!!! Can you believe our little girl is getting so big! Ok now to what happened....Today was a very frustrating day! I went to work and left to take Sydney to the dental lab then to the dentist. We basically were there for HOURS for NOTHING!!! The guy told us that it was close and to wear it for awhile & see.... The bridge is GREY so no she isnt going to wear it for awhile and "see". I was not a happy camper. We went to Dr. Anglin's office & he said that he is going to see if a different lab wants to try to get it right...if not then I am turning this tooth nightmare over to Brian to handle. I am done with Mr. Lab man! I did get a change to go to the Kids Market Consignment Sale today! It was AMAZING! I loved it. I bought several different things...one of which you see...a precious little bikini for our big girl to wear.

Today was a good day. Bayley was good during church. This afternoon Me Sydney & Bayley met Amy at the Fultondale Consignment Sale. It was fun. We got Gail a walker for her house & Bayley several outfits. Sydney found a tshirt she wanted & we also bought 2 different Barney books...one is Barney's version of Twas the Night before Christmas! Sydney is so excited. After the sale we dropped Sydney off at church for Group scrapbook adn we went home and took a nap! It was good!!!

Today was a good day. We went to Gail's house for Becca's 3rd Birthday Party!!! Becca is getting to be such a big girl! She was too cute and just as sweet as she could be! Happy Birthday We love you Becca! After the bday party Me Brian & Bay went to the river to fix Mother's computer. It was fun. Watch out world my Daddy is getting on the computer now! Im trying to talk him into blogging!

WE HAVE PULLING UP & PULLING/SHUFFLING/WALKING (or whatever you want to consider it!) Gail called me today & said that Bayley pulled up in her baby bed and walked around the crib! What in the world!!!! She had moved herself a few feet in her baby bed at home but not the whole thing! The day was pretty good & average after the big news!

Today was FRUSTRATING. I left work and Sydney & Devin met me to go to the lab & then the dentist. They were supposed to fix the color and then the dentist would put the bridge back in but OF COURSE That didnt work out! We rushed to the lab only to find out that we should have had her box of molds & that they cant remove the bridge to work on it which would have meant a trip to Hoover before they could work on it and then if we went to Hoover it would be too late to go back to the lab...so another wasted day!! THose are about the most unorganized people I have ever seen! It is rediculous. Bayley had a good day. She is a pulling up playing monkey baby these days! More tomorrow.

Bayley the AMAZING baby showed out tonight! She was so funny at church. Sydney turned her toward the back of the pew and she grabbed on and pulled up! Well Rachel G and a few others clapped. That brought more people...which brought more clapping and Bayley LOVED It! She would pull up and look around like...ok clap people! It was so funny! Sydney got her spirit pack with soccer and for once their sweats are actually not ugly! We are thrilled! More tomorrow.

Today was a good day. Bayley was with Katie today. They had a good day. Bayley & Hannah are funny together. I love it when I pick up Bayley & Hannah calls her Boo Boo! It is so cute!! Sydney went to the guys game in Demopolis tonight. They lost but had fun on the road trip! More tomorrow.

Today was a BUSY Day! Work is crazy these days. I have stacks of stuff on my desk to be done...UGHHH Anyway. Bayley & Sydney both had good days! Nothing too exciting to report.

Today was a good day. Bayley did good during church. She is a little flirt and loves to flirt with people at church. She is a funny girl. Sydney has had a good & lazy weekend. Nothing too exciting to report.

Today was a good day. We slept this morning until 9am....yes you read that right. Bayley Lauren Maddox slept until 9am. Now she woke up about 4 times during the night but MAN that sleep this morning was WONDERFUL! Thank you BayBay! We shopped around today and had a good day.

Today was a good day! Bayley had a good day at Gails. She loves to play these days & had fun playing in her high chair for a long time. We were lazy tonight and didnt do much of nothing. I love just chilling out with her and not doing anything too exciting.

Today is Lacy's 19th Birthday! My baby cousin is all grown up! I love you Lacy & Im so glad you stole my spot as the youngest granddaughter!!! I called Dr. Tindle about Bayley's tummy today. I told her what she has been doing and she wants us to increase her Levsin to 6 drops. Hopefully that will help to relax her tummy and she wont be hurting. We are also going to back off on her feeding a little bit and see if that helps too. Bay pulled up a lot in her bed tonight. She is a pulling up monkey these days. She is so proud of herself. She knows she is doing something really good! Bay also ate hawiian delight for the 1st time tonight...that stuff is YUMMY GOOD and her Sissys absolute favorite! More tomorrow.

Today is Alana's 10th Birthday!!! I cannot believe she is 10 years old yet. She is such a smart & pretty girl. We are so proud of you Alana - Happy Birthday We Love You!!! Devin came to church tonight with Sydney. Bayley was with Katie today. Bayley cried out while Katie was feeding her like she was in pain. She has been acting a little funny lately like her tummy might be hurting. Im gonna watch her tonight and see show she does and may call Dr. Tindle tomorrow.

Today was a goog day. Bayley was at Katies & did good. We went to the soccer field after work & watched Sydney's game. They played John Carroll. They lost 10 to 0 BUT they didnt get 10 pointed until the game was almost over. That is a HUGE improvement over last year when they got 10 pointed in the first half!!! Go Lady Spartans!!!!

We have pulling up! Today was a good day. Bayley was with Gail & did good. Gail watched her over at Brian's Grandmother's house. Bayley grabbed Gails fingers and pulled up!!! They showed it to me when I got there to pick her up! Go BayBay! Sydney was out of school today & went to work at Devin's moms again. They cleaned up forever. It was a pretty good President's Day.

Today was a good day. Bayley was good during church. After church Sydney worked on her individual scrapbook and then went to group scrapbook & song practice. Nothing exciting to report.
